摘要
A novel highly efficient isothermal chemical vapor infiltration (ICVI) process, which is realized at ambient pressure by using propylene as feeding precursor gas and nitrogen as diluted gas, is developed to improve the traditional ICVI processes. Adjusting the residence time of the gas mixture inside the reactor, the carbon/carbon (C/C) composites with the bulk density of 1.72 g/cm3 is acquired after 100 h densification via the directional diffusion of gas transport inside the perform. Compared with the traditional ICVI processes, the new technology dramatically shortens the densification time, indicating an enhanced densification efficiency and further a reduced production cost of C/C composites.
