摘要
A high-gain microstrip patch antenna based on an epsilon-negative transmission line is investigated numerically and experimentally. Using the novel resonance of the epsilon-negative first-positive-order resonator, gain of proposed patch antenna could be effectively enhanced. Compared with the conventional patch antenna, the experimental results show that the half-power beamwidths in the E and H planes of the proposed antenna are both reduced about 16°. As a result, gain of the proposed antenna is enhanced about 2 dB.
