T1 - Friction performance of paper type friction material in limited lubricating condition

N2 - The performance of paper type friction material with mate plate in sufficient lubrication condition and limited lubrication condition was investigated by using QM1000-II B friction tester. Results show that the supply states of lubricating oil have an important role in the friction performance of friction-lubrication system, the temperature rise of mate plate is small and the coefficient of friction is stable when the supply condition of lubricating oil is abundance. But in limited supply condition of lubrication oil, the temperature of mate plate raises rapidly, the lubrication oil decomposes rapidly and hot spots of mate plate are occurred when the temperature of mate plate raises to 103°C. Test results imply that the hot spots of mate plate and the hot decay of friction material are easily occurred in limited supply condition of lubrication oil.
