title = "Flow characteristics and intrinsic workability of magnesium alloy AZ61",
abstract = "This study focuses on deformation characteristics of magnesium alloy AZ61, which includes two parts: one Is formulation of flow stress and the other Is Intrinsic workability analysis by three-dimensional (3-D) processing maps. Based on the Gleeble-1500 thermomechanlcal simulation tests, the flow stress model for magnesium alloy AZ61 was built and the flow stress at arbitrary moment is described by a peak stress only depending on Zener-Hollomon parameter and strain. The model exhibits the strain softerning due to dynamic recrystalllztion (DRX). Intrinsic workability depends on the material itself and was investigated by constructing processing maps. The 3-D processing maps describe the variations of the efficiency of power dissipation and flow instability domains with strain rate, temperature and strain, by which the favourite deformation conditions for AZ61 are obtained.",
