摘要

This study focuses on optimizing high-speed milling parameters to minimize surface roughness (Ra). High-speed milling experiments were conducted on aluminum alloy 7055 specimens prepared by five levels and four factors. The influence of milling speed, feed per tooth, milling depth and milling width on surface roughness were investigated. Detailed 3D surface topography was observed to analyze the mechanism of milling parameters on surface roughness. Results of this study indicate that the surface roughness increases gradually with the increase of feed per tooth and milling width; it decreases gradually with milling speed increasing; and the milling depth has little influence on surface roughness. The influence of feed per tooth on surface topography was more significant than that of milling speed. Appropriately by selecting processing parameters, the minimum surface roughness 0.17μm can be obtained.
