Electromagnetic interference shielding properties of nitrogen-doped graphene/epoxy composites

摘要

Nitrogen-doped graphene (N-GP) containing 8.5 at% N and 0.5–5 μm wide was synthesized using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and characterized using Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. Nitrogen content and fractions of different N species of N-GP could be targeted for specific applications by controlling NH3/CH4 ratio during CVD. Relative to other carbon nanomaterials and composites, N-GP/epoxy composites demonstrated significantly increased electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency mostly because of high specific surface area of the filler and presence of nitrogen acting as polarizing centers. Our results demonstrated that N-GP/epoxy composites are an excellent material choice for the EM shielding applications.
