摘要
The melting rate can influence the content of Ti at the solid/liquid interface according to the classic solidification theory; then, the Ti-riched segregation has been researched in the NbTi alloy ingots prepared at different melting rates. The results indicate that the Ti-riched segregation in grain boundary is restrained by decreasing the melting rate. It is advantageous to improve the macro- and micro-elements homogeneity for NbTi ingot. The Φ 520 mm NbTi ingot, whose surface and homogeneity are very good, is fabricated at 9 kg/min melting rate and it reaches the standard of WahChang of U.S. Finally, the appropriate melting rate of fabricating NbTi alloy ingot is obtained for engineering application.
