Comparing Wilson method with complex optimal method using aerodynamic design parameters of an imported horizontal wind turbine

摘要

The known aerodyanmic design parameters of a German XWEC-JACOBS600 kw horizontal wind turbine are given in Ref. 4. In section 1 of the full paper, we breifly introduce the Wilson method and the complex optimal method. Also in section 1, we point out that Xiao Jun et al developed the necessary program for complex optimal method. The calculated results, obtained with CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software FLUENT and shown in Figs. 2 and 4, show preliminarily that: (1) The chord length designed by the Wilson method is longer than that of the product while that designed by the complex optimal method is in good agreement with that of the product; (2) The complex optimal method is more accurate than the Wilson method, with less error of the designed power 4.6% to 12.3%.
