Cogging process simulation for large size GH4169 alloy ingot

摘要

A three-dimensional FEM simulation for the cogging process of large size ingot breakdown of GH4169 alloy was performed. The distribution and evolution history of thermomechanical parameters including strain, strain rate and temperature within the billet were calculated quantitatively. Strain penetration within the billet during the cogging process was analyzed as well. In addition, the distribution rules of strain and temperature on the section in both the radial and axial directions were presented. In order to evaluate the rules, the calculating results were compared with the available experimental optical micrographs. The results show that the calculating results agree well with the experiment, and thus can providing the base of the cogging technology for large size GH4169 alloy ingot.
