N2 - Since 1980's, with the development of Biochemistry, Photophysics, Computer and Information Technology and Image-processing technology, Pressure-Sensitive Paint (PSP) technique has been widely employed in many engineering fields because of its evident advantages, such as easy to operate, lower cost, noninterference in flow field and wide range of pressure measurement. The contents of this paper including basic theory of luminescence molecules and its application to optical measurement, development of PSP technique, applications of PSP technique both to internal and external flow fields were depicted to exhibit the perspectives of PSP technique. The details of the differences of PSP technique applied to internal and external flow fields, the role of Temperature-Sensitive Paint in PSP measurement, the methods and procedures of PSP technique application were introduced as many as possible.
