Application of the mu-omega method in aeroelastic stability analysis

摘要

A recently proposed flutter prediction method called mu-omega method in frequency domain was generalized to the static divergence analysis. Numerical study was conducted using the method to analyze the stability boundary of complex aeroelastic system. The flutter characteristic of a high aspect ratio swept wing was calculated. The critical flutter speed and flutter frequency obtained by the mu-omega method have a relative error of 0.83% and 0.39% respectively compared with those solved by the p-k method. After then, static divergence analysis was carried out on a delta wing model. The critical divergence speed was obtained by the mu-omega method with a relative error of 2.02% compared with that given by the p-k method. It indicates that the mu-omega method has good numerical accuracy and is applicable in the stability analysis of complex aeroelastic systems.
