N2 - Radio frequency interference (RFI) is a critical issue that leads to image degradation of spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. In addition to the interference of ground terrestrial radiation sources, there is an emerging type of interference called mutual terrain scattered interference (MTSI), which is becoming more and more severe with the deployment of multiple satellite constellations. In this paper, we investigated the mechanism of MTSI, analyzed the signal characteristics, and discussed the boundary conditions from the time, frequency and space perspectives. Simulation results are provided for illustration, which provides a knowledge basis for interference detection and mitigation.
