The intrinsic heterogeneity, integration of computation and physical processes of CPS challenges the existing modeling frameworks. The close interactions between such systems and physical world make event-based approach as a remarkable solution for the modeling and simulation of CPS. This paper discusses an event-based architecture to enable analysis and design of CPS systems in an integrated manner. A lunar rover example is used to illustrate the proposed approach.",
