摘要
The Distributed queueing (DQ) access protocol has been demonstrated to have high channel utilization independent of traffic load and pattern. However, existing studies are still challenged by heavy contention overhead, where mini-slot sizes and feedback efficiency are the main influencing factors. This letter proposes an improved DQ protocol that effectively increases contention resolution efficiency by utilizing optimal variable mini-slots and an enhanced feedback mechanism. The proposed protocol reduces the contention overhead by at least 20% and shows near-optimal throughput compared to existing protocols.
