An efficient robust adaptive beamforming method using steering vector estimation and interference covariance matrix reconstruction

摘要

The existing robust adaptive beamforming method based on steering vector estimation or interference-plus-noise covariance matrix reconstruction is known to suffer from performance degradation in presence of antenna array geometry error. To alleviate this problem, a novel algorithm is proposed. The essence of the proposed method is first to estimate the actual desired signal steering vector by solving a semidefinite programming problem, which is obtained by optimizing the worst-case performance of the original convex problem adopted in steering vector estimation-based method. The precise interference-plus-noise covariance matrix is then obtained by eliminating the contribution of the estimated desired signal to the sample covariance matrix.
