AHP based on exponential scale for better evaluation of IR seeker's anti-jamming performance during missile research process

Aim: The traditional AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) gives evaluation results that are not really accurate and objective because of the undue influence of subjective factors unavoidable in using 1-9 criterion to obtain quantitative results. We now present an improved AHP that we believe is better. In the full paper, we explain our AHP based on exponential scale in some detail; in this abstract, we just add some pertinent remarks to listing the two topics of explanation. The first topic is: AHP based on exponential scale. In this topic, we introduce the exponential scale of importance to reaching comparatively correct judgements. The second topic is: The evaluation of IR seeker's anti-jamming performance. In this topic, we divide the missile research into the usual three stages, which require conducting experiments for each of the stages. Then we construct the evaluation hierarchical structure, as shown in Fig. 1 in the full paper. Also in this topic, we use exponential scale to establish judgement matrices and calculate the weighted coefficients of the three stages for a three-layer hierarchy of judgement matrices, as given in Tables 4 through 7 in the full paper. The calculation results show preliminarily that our improved AHP is better and more effective in that all the judgement matrices established through exponential scale are highly consistent and thus the undue influence of subjective factors is reduced.
