N2 - Nowadays, the simulation technology are playing a more and more important role in the whole life cycle of weapon system design and application. In this paper, the state of the simulation technology in weapon system design and application is reviewed. And then, to meet the requirement of some brand new warfare styles like combat in complex environment, man-machine cooperation, cyberspace operation, intelligent system operation, combat training, new concepts of weapon simulation are developed, new demand of weapon simulation is introduced and new problems that must be solved are discussed. At last, the necessity and development trend of the future simulation technology is given.
