Abstract

A miniature and wideband helix antenna with gradient radius is proposed in this paper. The contour of the antenna is as a cone with small bottom and large top radius. An extra microstrip line is connected to the bottom end of the helix for impedance matching. The antenna is modeled and simulated. The simulated results show that the antenna can cover the bandwidth of 40% in X-band. It's expected this antenna can be a candidate of antenna design with limited size, wide bandwidth, circular polarization and simple structure properties.
