Abstract

In this paper, the very-low-frequency radiated fields of a bent wire antenna are presented using the dipole approximation. Firstly, the near-field formula and the far-field formula for electric dipole radiation polarized in arbitrary direction in free space are derived. Then, the superposition of radiated fields of multiple electric dipoles are also given. According to the current distribution flowing through the bent wire antenna, radiated fields from the 6km wire antenna is regarded as the fieldsuperposition of those from 1200 electric dipoles in series of arranging along the bent wire antenna. The correctness of the proposed method is proved by comparing the numerical results with those of the Feko software.
