Abstract

The interferences between tool and workpiece in the spiral machining of blade, were discussed. According to the channel machining theory, this paper developed a method for the spiral machining, which can avoid the interferences between tool and platform of the blade. How to adjust the size of the cut step was discussed, and it was deduced that the relationship between the normal included angles of the two cutter location points abutting each other and the tilt angles of the arbor. The results show that the methods proposed can avoid the interferences with the instances of blades that are machined by means of a 4-axis spiral milling machine. The efficiency can be increased, and the manufacture cost may be decreased greatly.
