Abstract
The flow loss resulting from the tip clearance of half-shrouded centrifugal impeller was deduced. The model of the efficiency drop and pressure loss versus the tip clearance was established. The gap effect was tested and the rules of the effect were obtained. The test results are in agreement with the theoretical prediction.
