Abstract

Bamboo charcoal/Li2SnO3 composites for lithium-ion batteries were synthesized by a sol-gel route. The structure, morphology, and electrochemical properties of the composites were detected by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, Raman spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and electrochemical measurements. The results showed that Li2SnO3 particles were loaded on the surface of bamboo charcoal and some of them entered into the hole. The bamboo charcoal/Li 2SnO3 composites exhibited good electrochemical performance with high capacity and good cycling stability (616.5 mAh g -1 after 50 cycles). The composites showed a better electrochemical property than Li2SnO3 and bamboo charcoal.
