Abstract

The derivatives of heterocyclic compounds, especially nitrogen-containing derivatives of heterocyclic compounds (NCDHC) possess excellent properties, such as anti-wear, anti-corrosion, and anti-oxidation. Many researchers indicated that the excellent properties of NCDHC could be attributed to their compact and stable structures. It is important to study these compounds since they are potential non-phosphorus multifunctional additives that may be used as replacements for zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP) in lubricating oils. In this paper, a series of derivatives of morpholine (DM) were synthesized, their properties as lubricating oil additives were evaluated by experimental tests. The results indicated that NCDHC and DM possess good anti-wear, friction reduction, load-carrying, anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation properties.
