The parametric 3D modeling of the tool and the workpiece based on simulation of cutting process

Abstract

Aiming at the numerical simulation of the metal oblique cutting process, so as to make 3D modeling convenient and rapid, modeling technique and procedure was introduced in the paper. Firstly the model of the tool and workpiece were given, and modeling styles was also chosen. Then the interface was finished by using C++ Builder, with the help of database technique. After giving the parameters of the structure and geometry of the tool while giving the workpiece dimension and relative position between them, procedure file was made and 3D modeling could be done in Marc environment. So it provided the basis for numerical simulation on metal oblique cutting process.
