The influence of the injection angle of secondary flow on performance of blockerless thrust reverser

Abstract

The flowfield of the blockerless thrust reverser was analyzed numerically and experimentally, the influence of the injection angle of secondary flow on performance of blockerless thrust reverser was discussed in detail. The results shown the injection angle of secondary flow have an obvious effect on the flow direction and flow rate through the cascade thrust reverser window, and then the performance of the thrust reverser is altered. An optimum injection angle of the secondary flow exists to make the effectiveness of the trust reverser best. When the injection of the secondary flow is jet along the deflection direction of the fan flow, the maximum injection depth can be achieved; much more fan flow can be suppressed by the secondary flow and deflected out through the thrust reverser window, the optimal performance of the thrust reverser is obtained correspondingly.
