Abstract

Based on the analysis of force-energy relationship and control mode during the forging process systematically, the characteristics of clutch screw press were defined and a mathematical model of force-energy relationship was established. In order to simulate the forging process on clutch screw press, a FEM module was developed. The simulation results show that the proposed FEM module can describe the movement of the screw, the change of the strike force and the output of energy of the press and predict the strike force for different control mode accurately.
