Abstract

In order to simplify the preparation process of anti-oxidation coating, the phosphate coating was prepared on C/C and C/SiC disks by using phosphate solution dipping method. The effects of friction-surface phosphate coating on friction performance of C/C and C/SiC were investigated. In dry condition, the results showed that friction-surface phosphate coating decreased the average coefficient of friction (COF) of C/C seriously, however, was beneficial to the friction performance of C/SiC. For C/SiC, friction-surface phosphate coating enhanced the stability of COF, lowered the linear wear rate. In freshwater condition, friction-surface phosphate coating would cause to a small fading of the COF of C/SiC at the first braking. And relevant wear mechanisms were established.
