Abstract

This study explores the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) in enhancing emotional reminiscence among older adults, comparing the effects of static images and dynamic videos on emotional arousal and psychological well-being. Twenty-five participants aged 65 and above were assessed using the PAD scale, eye-tracking analysis, and interviews. Results show that both static and dynamic AI-generated content significantly enhance pleasure and dominance, with dynamic videos having a stronger impact on arousal and emotional resonance. Eye-tracking data indicate that dynamic videos better capture and sustain attention, enriching emotional recall. Positive feedback highlights the personalization and emotional relevance of AI content, though concerns about long-term use and privacy persist. The findings suggest that Generative AI offers innovative approaches for emotional reminiscence and psychological support for older adults. Future research should include larger samples, multi-sensory stimuli, and refined ethical standards to ensure safe and effective AI applications in elderly care.
