Abstract
Our paper investigates the dynamic tensile properties of 2D-C/SiC composites at elevated temperatures of 800°C and 1000°C by means of SHTB. The temperature and strain rate effects of the composite are found and discussed. Then the morphology of fracture surface of coated and uncoated composites at elevated temperature is examined by SEM, and it was found that the uncoated specimen was much more severely oxidized. Thus we conclude that coated composite displays a better tensile property. In other words, it displays excellent tensile property at 800°C and some tensile property at 1000°C.
