Abstract

The Hi-Nicalon SiC monofilaments were exposed in a proton resource to simulate typical space environment under the room temperature. Their tensile strengths were investigated and Weibull distribution parameters were extracted depending on the proton treatment time. It is proved that the average tension strength of the monofilament is monotonously weakened with the proton fluence increasing, and the distribution of the strength data will be more scatter firstly, and then be tremendously narrower.
