Abstract
A 10vol%SiCp/LY12 Al composite was fabricated by spray deposition processing and its superplasticity has been investigated. The experimental results show that Al composite has good superplasticity with the pretreatment of hot isostatic pressing and isostatic hot extrusion. The optimum parameters during superplastic deformation are respectively 480°C of the deformation temperature and 1.0×10-3/S of the initial strain rate, the maximum value of strain-rate exponent and limit elongation are respectively 0.53 and 345%.
