Abstract
Several N-containing hetrocyclic salts of alkylphosphite were synthesized, and their tribology behaviors were studied. The resuls showed that the P-N agents possess good extreme pressure, antiwear and friction reduction properties as compared with T304 and T307. The friction coefficient of PN-2 agent is much lower than T304 and T307 at 250°C. The correlation between the bonding strength of the reaction film to the substrate and the maximum non-seizure load is good. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Anger electron spectroscope analyses indicated that the P-N agents can form a tribochemical reaction film containing N and P on the rubbing surface. Element P exists in the form of FePO 4 and N exists in the original valence state on the rubbing surface. It is understood that N has entered into the whole friction course.
