Abstract

According to the nonlinear inductance model of switched reluctance machine (SRM), a complete nonlinear simulation model of a four phase 8/6 poles switched reluctance generator (SRG) system was built using Matlab/Simulink/PSB toolbox, and the simulation results validate the applicability of the model. On the basis of this model, several fault conditions such as phase windings fault, converter switch fault, load fault, prime motor fault and so on were simulated; the simulation results including output voltage and phase current were presented and compared with the analytic results in correlative literatures. The simulation results indicate that the SRG system has better fault-tolerant capability. The modeling method and simulation results of fault have certain reference value to fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant research of switched reluctance generator systems.
