Abstract

Piezoelectric ceramics BiYbO3-PbTiO3(BYPT) with high curie temperature were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction. The effect of BiYbO3 on microstructure and electrical properties was investigated. The result revealed that there were two phases coexisting in the ceramic, one was perovskite phase, the other was Yb2Ti2O7 phase. With increasing BiYbO3 content, Yb2Ti2O7 phase increased. Curie temperature TC and dielectric constant εr increased and then decreased with increasing BiYbO3 content, while dielectric loss tan δ showed opposite rule. The BYPT ceramics with 10%BiYbO3 had the excellent properties, TC was 590°C, εr was 660 and tan δ was 0.017.
