Study on kinetics of the interdiffusion reaction in PZT/PNN functionally gradient piezoelectric materials

Abstract

The interfacial diffusion reaction between PZT and PNN phases in FGM ceramics has been investigated as a function of the sintering temperature and time respectively. The compositional distribution profiles of the interaction region were examined by electron probe microbeam analysis (EPMA) under the same condition. According to the diffusion model, the concentration distribution profiles were simulated by the computer. The diffusion coefficient and activation energy for Ni2+, Nb5+, Ti4+ and Zr4+ have been estimated. The results were discussed.
