Abstract
The performance and reliability of the fly-by-light(FBL) system lies on the photoelectric units such as the lamp-house, the optical fiber, photodiode, and so on. The proper choice of the photoelectric unit is one of the key points to design an FBL system successfully. Aiming at the development actuality of FBL in our country, and at the precondition of the photoelectric unit independent developing, a study is carried out about the choice and development of the photoelectric unit. After the detailed tests at a high temperature and simulating the fight surroundings, a kind of multimode quartz fiber is validated, which can meet the request of the FBL. At last, an implement scheme is designed in the use of the chosen device. The elementary result indicates that the design is feasible.
