Abstract
The damage tolerance issue for structure of composite bonded repair and bonded assembly was put forward and the tension loading capacity after impact was concerned. The explicit FEM of central difference method and dechohesion element method based on D-B model were applied. Quads stress criteria and power law of energy release rate were used to confirm the damage initiation and damage final of adhesive film respectively. Then the basis tension load of undamaged scarf bonded CFRP was determined and the damage location, mode and ultimate load was pointed. In addition, the impact tolerance sensitivity among 5 typical locations was investigated. On the most sensitive location, by loading different levels of impact energy, the adhesive damage was imported into the tension model and the law of residual strength after impact was studied.
