Study on Anti-backlash Mechanism Used in Precise Transmission: A Review

Abstract

Precision transmission mechanism is widely used in aircraft, ground weapons and equipment, radar antenna and other systems to meet the requirements of high transmission accuracy and high positioning accuracy. This paper introduces the anti-backlash mechanism of gear transmission and spiral transmission, additionally, the backlash elimination mechanism of gear transmission focuses on the principle of conical involute gear anti-backlash mechanism and double piece gear tooth staggering mechanism, which includes tooth staggering by sliding pin, spring loaded and spiral spline. In addition, the specific processing method and the preliminary selection method of preload are proposed for the tooth staggering anti-backlash mechanism by spiral spline. Besides, this paper introduces the backlash elimination principle of screw drive, which includes the double-nut ball screw mechanism, double-nut planetary roller screw mechanism and double-screw planetary roller mechanism, also, predicts the future research hotspots of the double-nut planetary roller screw mechanism taking the double-nut ball screw mechanism as a reference.
