Abstract

The Ni-Fe-P alloy was deposited on the surface of glass fiber via electroless plating process. The bath was very steady through the Palladium salt test. There were not phenomenons of peeling and blistering on the surface of the Ni-Fe-P alloy glass fiber in the thermal shock test. It shows that the deposits have the high impact strength and the good adhesion. The topography of the coatings were observed through the scanning electron microscope (SEM). The elements and their content are tested and analyzed through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The iron content was 21.8 wt% at most. The effects of nickel content and iron content on the conductivity of the coatings were studied. The resistance rate of the Ni-Fe-P alloy glass fiber gets to 7.32 × 10-4 Ω·m. At last, the electromagnetic parameters of the Ni-Fe-P alloy glass fiber were tested and analyzed primarily. The magnetic loss gets to 0.037 and the dielectric loss gets to 1.44.
