Abstract

The nanocomposites of hydrogenated nitrile rubber(HNBR)/poly(zinc dimethacrylate)(PZDMA) are prepared by compounding and in-situ polymerizing with zinc oxide(ZnO) and methacrylic acid(MAA) in the curing process. The effects of ZDMA content, curing ingredient content and post-curing time on the physical and mechanical properties of nanocomposites are investigated. The effect of PZDMA on thermal stability is analyzed. The morphology structure of compounds and vulcanizates is observed. The results show that the comprehensive property is optimal when ZDMA is 50 phr, DCP is 4-6 phr and post-curing time is 9 hours. TGA analysis shows that PZDMA can increase thermal stability markedly. SEM analysis shows that the ZDMA disperses evenly and has good compatibility with HNBR. The morphology of tension fracture surface coincides with the high strength of nanocomposites.
