Simulation of the manufacturing process of a micro-factory based on agents

Abstract

A micro-factory is a means of green manufacturing with such advantages as energy saving and environment friendliness. We present the simulation of a micro-factory's mannfacturing process. Section 1 deals with the establishment of the simulation model, including the sub-model of its manufacturing system, the sub-model of its products and the sub-model of its techniques. Then in Section 2, we carried out simulation of the manufacturing process based on the above model. Exicimer laser direct writing is used as the main method of machining. Four agents-a control agent, a desktop agent, a laser control agent and a workpiece agent are introduced in the simulation process. Results show that agent-based simulation is an effective way to study the laser machinging process of the micro-factory.
