Simulation and analysis of performances for Galileo system

Abstract

Galileo system, the new satellite navigation system in Europe, has been developing from 2003, whose satellite visibility and system availability are very important performances for such system. The number of visible satellite, the Dulition of Positioning (GDOP) and the integrity performance of Galileo system were researched according to the developing frame of this system. At the same time, the performances of Galileo and GPS were compared through a series of simulations, and the simulation results show that Galileo system has better satellite visibility and availability. This result will provide a good base for the future applications of Galileo system.
