Abstract

A large-scale low-speed close-looped wind tunnel is designed and set up for special research on boundary layer, heat transfer and film cooling in turbomachinery. Some main problems considered in design and construction of the wind tunnel are described in this paper. The measuremental results of the wind tunnel show that within the test section the uniformity of air-flow velocity is quite high and the turbulence intensity could be quite low in condition of no turbulence generator. The boundary layer parameters and heat transfer coefficients agree well with theoretial expressions.
