N2 - The goal of this paper is to address the physical layer security (PLS) problem for a hybrid wiretapping wireless system, where active eavesdroppers (AE) and passive eavesdroppers (PE) may coexist to intercept the confidential messages and disrupt traffic. To this end, we propose a directional modulation (DM) scheme that uses frequency diverse array (FDA) with aided artificial noise (AN) technique at the transmitter to achieve angle-range dependent secure transmission, and phased-array antennas at the receiver to eliminate the jamming signals. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed scheme.
