Abstract

A robust beamformer is presented to mitigate interference for direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) communications when the receiver vibrates/moves quickly or the interference environment is nonstationary. This paper introduces taper processing (TP) beamforming to widen the notch and suppress the sidelobe simultaneously. Nonlinear least-square method is adopted to realize the desired low-sidelobe array pattern. And an extension matrix without the knowledge of interference arrival angle is presented for notch widen. Simulations illustrate the validity and efficiency of TP beamforming against motional excess interference in DSSS.
