Abstract

Pyrene derivatives have become an important component of organic semiconductors due to features of large conjugation and chemical modification. Till now, most of the electroluminescent materials can classified into four categories according to the chemical structure: small molecules, oligomers, dendrimers and polymers. Among them, the small molecules include mono-substituted, di-substituted, and tetra-substituted derivatives. Meanwhile, some literatures have reported the applications of pyrene derivatives on the organic field effect transistors, organic solar cells and others in recent years. The organic semiconducting pyrene derivatives are compared and analyzed in accordance with the above classification. Finally, the future development trend of such materials is pointed out.
