Abstract

The intermolecular mixture of double base propellant and 95% grade purity of amorphous boron was made through a new method, and the sample was prepared. The combustion heat of samples was tested with the improved oxygen bomb calorimeter, and the compatibleness of the sample between the double base propellant and amorphous boron was analyzed by use of DSC curves of samples and different amorphous boron. The results indicate that this method is more accurate and reliable than those used before. The sample has bad storage compatibility, so the testing of combustion heat of the sample should be made immediately after the sample is prepared. The amorphous boron has certain reactivity even in normal atmospheric temperature, so the compatibility between combustion improver and amorphous boron should be considered in selection of the combustion improver.
