Research on Satellite Beam Tracking Method Based on Carrier Detection and BP Neural Network Correction

Abstract

A satellite beam tracking method based on carrier signal detection and back propagation (BP) neural network correction for combined navigation errors is proposed to address the issue of precise beam alignment of phased array antennas in broadband satellite communication. The phased array mobile communication antenna uses integrated navigation to obtain positioning and carrier attitude, performs coordinate transformation to calculate the alignment direction of the beam based on the position of the communication satellite. After completing initial alignment with the satellite, the phased array antenna detects the communication carrier wave continuously to find the optimal communication beam direction which is used as the expected output for the training of the BP neural network for combined navigation error suppression. After the training of the BP neural network is completed, the optimal beam direction for satellite communication can be directly obtained based on the combined navigation measurement and the phased array antenna beam can always be in a high gain working state, maintaining high bandwidth communication. Simulation shows that the satellite beam tracking method based on carrier detection and BP neural network correction can effectively suppress integrated navigation errors and improve satellite beam tracking accuracy. The tracking method does not rely on satellite beacon signals, simplifies system design, and reduces the precision requirements for integrated navigation selection.
