Research on molten pool temperature in the process of laser rapid forming

Abstract

A temperature measurement system has been developed by using a two-color infrared thermometer. The real-time tracking and fixed-point measurement were achieved during the LRF process. The influences of laser processing parameters on the temperature of molten pool was investigated, such as powder feed rate, scanning velocity of laser beam, laser power, spot diameter, shielding gas flow rate and powder feeding position. The control scheme of the single layer thickness was discussed and the relationship between the molten pool temperature and the cladding thickness was build.
