Abstract

To address the target localization problem of the airborne photoelectric reconnaissance platform, this paper establishes an extended Kalman filter model and theoretically analyzes the effect of linearization on the error, then introduces an improved EKF algorithm based on the median theorem and make simulation analysis. Finally, the proposed algorithm is verified in engineering by using an eight-axis rotorcraft suspended electro-optical pod for ground target localization. The test flight shows that the improved EKF algorithm proposed in this paper can be implemented in engineering, which can effectively improve the filtering performance and positioning accuracy.
